Coaches code of Conduct

The purpose of the Freedom Soccer Team is to create an environment where each participating player can learn and grow, as both a player and as a person. To assist in creating that environment, we the coaches will:

1. Work to develop the skills of all players on our team.

2. Ensure that each player attending a game receives fair playing time.

3. Administer structured practices aimed at developing fundamental skills of all players on the team.

4. Attend scheduling meetings and work with the Bay City Youth Soccer Club.

5. Submit to and pass a background check as prescribed by the South Texas Youth Soccer Association.

6. Work with officials to ensure that games are conducted properly. We believe that it is crucial that players learn to respect the authority of officials. Therefore, coaches must set a positive example for players.

7. Work with parents of players to ensure that playing travel soccer is a positive experience. Coaches will listen to parent concerns and take an active interest in the welfare of the child.

8. Understand that winning is not the primary purpose. The development of the child as both a player and a person is paramount. Soccer can be a tremendously positive learning tool for children. Coaches must always ensure that a learning environment is maintained.
